Earth Day 2026 – List of Events
Spring has a way of showing off along the Russian River—redwoods stretching a little taller, wildflowers popping up where you didn’t expect them, and neighbors finding any excuse to be outside. This Earth Day, communities across the watershed are rolling up their sleeves (and maybe getting a little muddy) with cleanups, celebrations, and hands-on ways to care for the places we all love. From riverside trash pick-ups to local events celebrating sustainability and biodiversity, there’s no shortage of ways to jump in, meet fellow stewards, and give a little back to the river that gives so much to the region.
We’ve curated a list of engaging community events designed to bring people together and inspire action toward protecting the environment. From hands-on workshops to outdoor adventures, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Before you head over to Courthouse Square for the annual Santa Rosa Earth Day Festival, join Santa Rosa’s Creek Stewardship team and community volunteers for a creek cleanup on Prince Memorial Greenway! All ages welcome. Equipment will be provided. Please wear weather-appropriate layers and secure, closed-toe shoes. Meet at Olive Park footbridge, near 1698 Hazel St. Each adult in your group should fill out this form. Attendees under the age of 18 can be listed in the box provided - Brush Creek

Volunteer for a community trash cleanup event!
Celebrate Earth Day 2026! Help protect Windsor’s creeks and the Russian River by picking up trash along Windsor’s streets.
Meet at the corner near Shiloh Rd & 19th Hole Dr to pick up safety vests, pickers, gloves and bags. After a brief safety meeting, volunteers will be dispatched to pick up trash along Shiloh Rd.
All participants will receive a free gift.
